When Washington High School outgrew its downtown location (now the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science), the school moved to a new facility in northeast Sioux Falls, just east of I-229. This relocation set in motion a flurry of activity as homes, churches and businesses followed suit. Residential developments on the northeast side of the city are comprised of homes with prices listing at an average price of $105,799. Also on the Washington campus are Anne Sullivan Elementary School and the Kenny Anderson Community Center, a place for students and families to gather after school, in the evenings and on weekends.
